Clear rules for using GingerDocs — fair to you, fair to us.
These are the terms that govern your use of GingerDocs. We've kept them direct: what you can do, what we'll do, and the few things neither of us is willing to take on. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Trigger Soft ("Trigger Soft," "we," or "us"), the company that builds and operates GingerDocs, covering your use of the GingerDocs web application and related services (the "Service"). If you're using GingerDocs on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company to these Terms, and "you" refers to that company.
If you don't agree with these Terms, don't use the Service. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and explains how we handle data.
2. Accounts & teams
Creating an account
You need a GingerDocs account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and protect your password. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account.
Team roles
- Owner — has full control over the workspace, including billing, branding, data export, and account deletion.
- Member — can create, edit, and send documents within the workspace.
Owners are responsible for the actions of members they invite, and for revoking access when someone leaves.
Eligibility
You must be old enough to enter into a contract in your jurisdiction (in most places, 18). GingerDocs isn't designed for, or directed at, children.
3. Your content
You own your content. The PDFs you upload, the edits you make, and the field data signers provide stay yours. We claim no ownership.
You grant Trigger Soft a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you — for example, rendering a PDF, routing it to signers, generating the final flattened copy, and producing audit-trail entries. We don't use the contents of your documents to train AI models or for advertising.
You're responsible for the content you upload, including any personal data within it. You confirm that you have the right to upload that content and to route it to the signers you specify.
4. E-signatures & audit log
GingerDocs captures electronic signatures via drawn, typed, or uploaded marks, plus identifying metadata (IP address, timestamps, recipient identity from the tokenized link). Each document accumulates a SHA-256 hash-chained, append-only audit log designed to be tamper-evident.
Whether a given signature is legally binding depends on the laws of your jurisdiction, the document type, and the surrounding business process. GingerDocs is a tool — you and your counsel are responsible for deciding it fits your use case. Some documents (for example, wills, certain notarized instruments, or transactions requiring qualified signatures) may not be appropriate for any standard e-signature platform; don't use GingerDocs for those.
Once a document is completed, the flattened PDF and its audit log are part of your business record. We'll keep them available to you while your account is active.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Upload, send, or sign documents that are illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or that infringe someone else's rights.
- Impersonate another person, forge signatures, or misrepresent the source of a document.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, phishing attempts, or malware via signer links.
- Bypass, probe, or interfere with our security controls, rate limits, or audit-log integrity.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service except as expressly permitted by law.
- Use the Service to violate export-control, sanctions, or other applicable laws.
We may investigate suspected violations and take action — including removing content, restricting features, or suspending the account — when we reasonably believe a violation has occurred.
6. Service availability
We work hard to keep GingerDocs running smoothly, but we don't promise uninterrupted, error-free service. We may need to perform maintenance, ship updates, or temporarily limit access to protect the platform.
We'll give reasonable advance notice of planned downtime when we can. Outside of those windows, if something breaks, please tell us — we want to know.
7. Billing, cancellation & refunds
Paid plans, if any, are described at the time of purchase or in a separate order form. Unless otherwise stated:
- Subscription fees are billed in advance for the term you choose.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel from your account settings at any time, with no cancellation fee; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term and you keep access until then.
- Any charge — first payment or renewal — is fully refundable within 14 days, no questions asked, as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
- You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
- We may change pricing or plan features for future renewal terms; we'll let you know in advance.
If you believe you've been billed incorrectly, tell us and we'll refund the error in full — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for how.
8. Suspension & termination
You can stop using GingerDocs at any time. Account owners can delete the account from settings, which triggers a 30-day hold during which the account can be restored. After the hold, document data is purged from active systems. See the Privacy Policy for details.
We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe it's being used in violation of these Terms, poses a security risk to the platform, or fails to pay amounts owed. Where practical and lawful, we'll give notice and a chance to cure the issue first.
Termination doesn't refund prepaid fees beyond what our Refund & Cancellation Policy or applicable law provides, and doesn't relieve either party of obligations that, by their nature, survive — including content ownership, payment due, IP, warranties, and liability sections.
9. Our intellectual property & feedback
The GingerDocs software, brand, designs, and documentation are owned by Trigger Soft and protected by IP law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service — they don't transfer ownership.
If you share feedback, ideas, or feature requests, we may use them to improve GingerDocs without any obligation or compensation. We'll never share back your confidential content as part of that.
10. Warranties & liability
We provide the Service "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent allowed by law, Trigger Soft disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet every requirement.
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenue, even if advised of the possibility. Each party's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms is limited to the amounts you paid Trigger Soft for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you're on a free plan, USD 100).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud.
11. Governing law & changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Trigger Soft is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to file in your home country.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify account owners by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
